Q: What video formats can I upload to the system?
A: You can upload any of the following formats: avi,flv,mpeg,wmv,mov,3gp,mp4,mpg,asf,mp3,f4v,swf
Q: Can I only upload videos?
A: No, you can also upload MP3 audio files for streaming and downloading.
Q: What size of video can I upload?
A: You can upload videos up to 250MB in size.
Q: If my video is over 250MB how do I then upload it?
A: Use a free video editing program to cut the video into smaller segments. An example of one is Windows Movie Maker. You can also look at re-coding the video into a more compressed format like mpeg.
Q: Why is there no audio for the wmv pro video I uploaded?
A: There is a known compatibility issue with wmv pro videos codec. Videos in this format will have to be converted to one of the other acceptable formats.
Q: How can I manage who can view my videos?
A: Upload the video as Private. Only the uploader can see private videos. If you then want to share your private videos with select people, create a group, add the private video to the group, then invite those memebers which you wish to have access to that video to the group.
Q: My organization doesn't have a channel, how can I get one?
A: Channels will be created for educational partners of Contact North. e-Mail your request for a channel to elearntube@contactnorth.ca along with an image to be used for the channel (submit in JPG format and size of 120x90 pixels).
Q: I want to limit who can upload into my channel, can this be done?
A: Yes. e-mail elearntube@contactnorth.ca to request a password be placed on your channel. Channel password will have to be shared with those from your organization who wish to be able to upload to the channel.
